In 1971, Loggins and Jim Messina launched Sittin’ In and, though the album yielded no High 40 radio hits, “Danny’s Tune” obtained a major quantity of radio airplay. Loggins wrote the track for his brother, Danny Loggins, in 1966 as a senior in highschool, when Danny grew to become the daddy of a boy named Colin – his first son.
“Danny’s Tune” was included because the B-side of one in all their early single releases, “No person However You” (U.S. No. 86, 1972).
