In 1971, Loggins and Jim Messina launched Sittin’ In and, though the album yielded no High 40 radio hits, “Danny’s Tune” obtained a major quantity of radio airplay. Loggins wrote the track for his brother, Danny Loggins, in 1966 as a senior in highschool, when Danny grew to become the daddy of a boy named Colin – his first son.

“Danny’s Tune” was included because the B-side of one in all their early single releases, “No person However You” (U.S. No. 86, 1972). Loggins and Messina would obtain chart success in 1973 with their track “Your Mama Don’t Dance“, however their model of “Danny’s Tune” stays one in all their best-known songs by the frequent airplay it obtained on rock and grownup up to date radio stations.
